4. Meaning - The message and story behind it.

Analysis 1 - cup of tea. (Martin Parr).

- The image of this cup of tea represents the British flag, as the colours in the photo are red, white and blue. - The Photographic Category of this image is Social Documentary because, it's picturing what the environment looks like with a social element to it. Also, Martin Parr's work is social documented. This image is also a portrait image, as it's centred, up and not long ways. - The purpose of this image is for promotion/ advertisement, as it's taken in a cafe which are trying to draw in more customers. - The Image Analysis of this image is, artificial lighting off camera because, there's only a forward light which isn't natural, the image set in the middle third of the grid which makes t centred and it's focused. - The meaning of this image is to capture the British way, it's also a stereotype of British people by having a cup of tea in a cafe and it's also an artistic statement of being British.

Analysis 2- seagulls and chips.  â€‹(Martin Parr).

- The image of the two seagulls with chips on the side wall represents a typical, British seaside. - The Photographic Category is Social Documentary because, it's again picturing what the environment looks like with a social element to it. Also, Martin Parr's work is social documented. This image is a landscaped image, as it's length ways and it's capturing all of the image, not just a section of it.  - The purpose of this image is art, to capture a day down the seaside which goes under British lifestyle because, it's a typical British thing to do to go down to the seaside.  - The Image Analysis of this image is a natural lighting from the background/seaside and the camera is also focused on the seagulls and capturing what they are doing.  - The message of this image is again to capture the British day and to see what happen if you leave food about. It's also another artistic way of being British.

Analysis 3- children in the street.  (Henri Cartier- Bresson).

- The image of the children represents the culture and environment of Madrid and how children play because, you can see them smiling, laughing and enjoying themselves. -The photographic Category of this image is Social Documentary because, it's picturing the social environment of Madrid, Spain. This image is a landscaped image, as it's also capturing all of the image.  -The purpose of this image is art and to again to capture the insight of children in Madrid, Spain. It is also used for Henri Cartier- Bressons' Exhibition. - The Image Analysis of this image is a natural lighting but in black in white so, not clear. The image isn't focused properly on the children so, is some what unclear what some of them are playing. - The message of this image is despite other activities going on, children can still enjoy their time out with others children.

Planning.

For this photoshoot, we had to brainstorm ideas of what we wanted to do for it. I brainstormed 5 ideas that I could choose from. Wildlife in the park, that would be all the animals the park, what they do when it's quiet. Life through a lens, that would be what you see through the lens. Fish, this would be the fish in the tank. Drawing with light, this would be in a dark room with laser light making images and a close friend. This would be a close friend of mine being a model for me for my photoshoot. I went with the close friend idea, I would go around my area finding the best spot to stand/sit to take photo's. The media product I am doing a photoshoot for is a portfolio that will be printed in a book.

Legal and Ethical.

With photography comes legal and ethical issues that you need to consider.

Permission sheets are what you need to confirm consent with the subject you're taking photos of.

Copy Right are photos that could be taken and used else where without permission from the owner of them. Religion considers other peoples religions because, you don't want to take offence images and use them somewhere without checking it's ok.

Location recce and risk assessment.

(Left and above) is a Risk Assessment and Location Recce. The location recce is to show where I will be going to do my photoshoot, what it will consist of and the risk assessment goes over what risks I may bump into on my way through doing the photoshoot.

10 photo's from the shoot.

Above are 10 images from my photo shoot. My photo shoot went really well, I felt it went to plan from my previous brief. I used a DSLR Camera to take photo's and that was it because, I felt it was easier to take close ups and different angled photo's free hand instead of using a tripod. There weren't any problems during the shoot, it went to plan. I played around with the settings on the camera to get the white balance correct from the background.

Photoshoot; original and edits.

The changes I made to this image is that I changed it into black and white. I went into properties on photoshop then, the black and white setting. I moved the colours bars to add more balance to the image.  I chose to edit this image in black and white because, I was just testing out what it would look like, would it look alright or not?! It did look good so, I kept it like that.

With this image, I changed it a bit by making it brighter with colour. I went into properties, Hue/Saturation which then the colour bars came up so, I had a free for all to change it up. I moved the hue and saturation bar down and up to give it that tint of a brighter colour. I chose to edit the photo this way because, I felt the original image looked dull and I wanted to make it brighter. I did that and I liked it.

With this third image I changed it by adding a dark coloured effect on it. I went into properties on photoshop, into Hue/Saturation. I moved the hue bar up to blue, but moved the saturation down to give the image a darker tint to it. I did it this way because again, I was testing out what it would be like and I really liked it.

With the forth image I changed it by putting a grainy effect on it. I went into properties, went into posterize and it went like this. (Below) I did it this way because, in the previous images I was just changing the colour and not really the effect. I wanted a different image.

With the last image I changed it again with colour. I went into properties on photoshop, into Hue/ Saturation and the colour bars came up. I moved hue into green and moved the saturation up to add balance. I did it this way because, the original image looked dark and I wanted it to become lighter and this colour lifted lightness.

Media product.

For my media product, I wanted to put my final edited images into a printed portfolio in a book, as I want to show off my work. I feel I worked hard to produce these images so, why not show them off!

Thanks! Message sent.
